On Sunday, 5 December, a large number of publishers and creators from the Netherlands and Belgium will be selling art books, (translated) literary gems, collections of poetry, self-published publications, literary non-fiction, unique (paper) objects, riso or silkscreen prints at the Beurs van Speciale Boeken (Fair for Special Books) in all spaces of Paradiso, Amsterdam.

What connects these publishers and creators is that they give great importance to authenticity, creativity and individuality. Although these often specialist publishers and makers make a relatively small contribution to the Dutch-language (book) range, their special publications are artistically and of very high quality and made with a great deal of attention to the creative process and the material. Every major Dutch author and artist has published with these publishers in the course of her or his career.

The Beurs van Speciale Uitgevers is the longest-running program in Paradiso. The first edition took place in 1977. Because it could not take place last year due to Covid-19, the 44th edition will take place this year.
