We are excited to announce the launch of the recently published Water Works: Ecosocial Design, edited by Henriëtte Waal and Clemens Driessen and designed by Bart de Baets. Water Works is a versatile collection of over sixty essays and case studies which revolve around a large scope of water issues, blending knowledge derived from craft, design, art, science, and technology in a critical manner. Actively going beyond the assumption that ‘water is just water’, this book gives insight into the ways in which bodies of water work differently than we may think, and how we could work with them.

During the launch, editors Henriëtte Waal and Clemens Driessen will moderate a conversation with several contributors of Water Works. Expect inspiring talks in fluid form. To quench our thirst, Selkie beer will be served brewed by Fortuna Vlieland and developed in the Buitenbrouwerij: Waal’s ‘autarkic mobile water-cleaning system annex beer brewery’ that transforms river water into uniquely brewed and fermented beers.

Join us to raise a glass to Water Works on 27 September at San Serriffe, Sint Annenstraat 30, Amsterdam. You are warmly invited from 18:00 until 20:00.

Water Works can be ordered here, or get your hands on a copy during the launch.
