Studium Generale Rietveld Academy is an extensive, transdisciplinary theoretical program intended for students and staff from all departments of the Gerrit Rietveld Academy. It is also regularly prepared for a wider audience. Studium Generale wants to show how art and design relate to other domains - from personal to politics and from pop culture to the academic world - and how our "now" is related to the past and future and our "here" to "somewhere else".

The theme of the program for 2019/2020 is 'Relating (to) Colour' and focuses on the history, politics and perception of color in creating and understanding aesthetic forms, social structures and embodied experiences. Color structures our daily life and our actions, our relationships with others and the spaces in which we live. Within different historical and cultural contexts, however, colors have very different symbolic, psychological, material and socio-political meanings. Joke Robaard's lecture is called 'I AM AS IF COLORLESS'.

Valiz will be present at the event.
